The United States news network CNN announced on its screens on Wednesday that it had evacuated its New York bureau over a suspicious package alike to those addressed to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan are among a some of the people that have been targeted by doubtful packages this week.

New York police confirmed to AFP that its officers had been called to the Time Warner Center, where the CNN bureau in the U.S. financial capital is located, to look into reports of a suspicious package.

An explosive device was initially discovered Monday in a mailbox at liberal billionaire George Soros' New York residence.

The Secret Service seized a suspicious package addressed to Hillary Clinton the following night. By Wednesday, at least five political figures were the aim of suspicious packages in Washington, D.C., New York, and Sunrise, Florida.
