Bill De Blasio And City Council Declare $85.2 Billion Budget Agreement

The New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and also the City Council have come to an  budget agreement of $85.2 billion for the Fiscal Year 2018. De Blasio said on Friday night that the deal is “aimed at addressing the economic realities of everyday New Yorkers.”

Among the budget fund, the larger initiatives are $110 million for the construction of  library, $30 million for the nonprofit service providers and also $9 million in order to create 5,000 summer jobs. The city is also supposed to save $100 million from the partial hiring freeze.

The fiscal budget includes $105.5 million in the form of capital funding so as to ensure that every public school in the city has physical education facilities by the year 2021.

The agreement also includes $7.2 million for the emergency food assistance. That is an increase of 15 percent from the last year.

It also includes the property tax exemption for any veteran who has served in a war.

The mayor Bill de Blasio said that this is the city’s earliest budget agreement since the year 1992.
