Nothing Phone 4a was introduced in India and other international markets on Thursday during an event held in London, UK, where the new Nothing Phone 4a Pro was also revealed. Both devices will be available for purchase in India through an online shopping platform. The fresh Nothing Phone 4a comes in four colors and three different storage sizes. It features the new Glyph Bar interface from Nothing, which includes 63 mini-LED lights and six separate zones that can be controlled independently. Both the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 series processors. The Phone 4a holds a 5,400mAh battery. The starting price for the Nothing Phone 4a in India is Rs. 31,999 for the entry-level model that has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The more advanced 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB versions are priced at Rs. 34,999 and Rs. 37,999, respectively. Buyers can take advantage of a Rs. 1,000 bank offer and a bonus of Rs. 6,000 for exchanges when buying the phone.

In contrast, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro is available at Rs. 39,999 for the basic 8GB+128GB variant, while the higher-end 8GB+256GB version is priced at Rs. 42,999. The premium Nothing Phone 4a Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs Rs. 45,999. The new devices are expected to be available in India on March 13 and March 27, respectively, through Flipkart. The Nothing Phone 4a can be purchased in Black, Blue, Pink, and White, while the Phone 4a Pro is available in Black, Pink, and Silver. The Nothing Phone 4a is a dual SIM smartphone that operates on Android 16 using Nothing OS 4.1. The company guarantees three years of operating system updates and six years of security updates for the latest smartphone. It features a 6.78-inch LTPS Flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,224x2,720 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, peak brightness reaching 4,500 nits, a pixel density of 440 ppi, 1.07 billion colors, a 2,500Hz touch sampling rate in gaming mode, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The Nothing Phone 4a is driven by a 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor made by Qualcomm. This system on a chip is said to reach a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz. It also has a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, can support up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and offers up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Phone 4a has an IP64 rating, meaning it is resistant to dust and splashes. The Nothing Phone 4a also features the innovative Glyph Bar interface, which consists of 63 mini-LEDs and six separate addressable zones. The Glyph Bar supports various functions, including generative ringtones, Glyph Timer, Essential Notifications, Volume Indicator, Live Notifications, Glyph Torch, Camera Countdown, Flip to Record, Flip to Glyph, and Glyph Progress.

In terms of camera features, the Nothing Phone 4a has a three-camera setup on the back, highlighted by a 50-megapixel main lens (f/1.88) that uses a Samsung GN9 sensor measuring 1/1.57 inches and includes optical image stabilization. Additionally, there is a 50-megapixel periscope camera on the rear featuring a Samsung JN5 sensor that is 1/2.75 inches, equipped with OIS and capable of “Ultra Zoom” up to 70 times.

It also comes with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, which has a Sony IMX355 sensor and can capture a 120-degree view. Furthermore, the Nothing Phone 4a includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, which utilizes a Samsung KD1 sensor and has an 89-degree view. This newly launched phone can record videos at a maximum of 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. The device is powered by a 5,400mAh battery that supports fast charging at 50W. According to the company, the phone can go from 1 percent to a full charge in approximately 64 minutes. Additionally, it supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, has a USB Type-C port, and includes GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS for connectivity options. The sensors on the device consist of a fingerprint sensor located under the display for security, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, a digital compass, a gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. The phone dimensions are 163.95x77. 57x8. 55mm, and it has a weight of roughly 204.5g.

The Nothing Phone 4a Pro supports dual SIM cards as well. It runs on the same operating system as the regular version. This model features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen, capable of a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, a touch sampling rate of 2,500Hz, PWM dimming at 2,160Hz, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The device is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor built using a 4nm fabrication process. It comes with options for up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It has the same battery capacity and fast charging capability as the regular Phone 4a. The phone is rated IP65 for resistance to dust and water. Instead of the Glyph Bar, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro features a bigger Glyph Matrix interface with 137 mini-LEDs and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. It can also utilize Glyph Toys to display battery information, timers, a digital clock, Solar Path, and Glyph Mirror.

In terms of its camera system, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro has a three-camera arrangement on the back, led by a 50-megapixel camera using a Sony LYT-700c sensor along with OIS. It includes a 50-megapixel telephoto camera that offers "Ultra Zoom" capabilities up to 140 times, plus an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The selfie camera is identical to that found on the Phone 4a.
