A New York judge on Thursday dismissed one charge against American film producer Harvey Weinstein, besides left the discredited Hollywood giant facing five other charges in link with alleged sexual assault.
The 66-year-old father of five, out on a USD 1 million bail and compelled to wear a GPS (Global Positioning System) monitor, attended the latest court hearing and denies any non-consensual sexual relations.
"This is obviously a very positive development," Weinstein's defense lawyer, Ben Brafman, told reporters outside the court.
More than 80 women have publicly accused the Hollywood movie mogul of sexual wrongdoing ranging from harassment to rape.
He has denied engaging in any "non-consensual sexual conduct".
