New Jersey state is going to sue a New Hampshire gun manufacturer. The state said that the manufacturer sold defective handguns to the state police.

The Newington-based Sig Sauer sold 3,000 handguns to the New Jersey State Police for nearly $2 million. When the weapons were delivered in the year 2014, the lawsuit said that many of the guns were failed to work when fired.

The lawsuit also said that Sig Sauer failed to provide new guns to the state police by an agreed-upon date.

According to the New Hampshire Public Radio, New Jersey's Attorney General has filed a breach of the contract complaint, seeking the refund, and also nearly $900,000 to cover up the cost of purchased holsters.

Sig Sauer did not respond to the request for comment. WMUR-TV reports that the Manchester police, who have purchased the guns from Sig Sauer, have not encountered any problems .
