New York Man Arrested For Stealing More Than 100 Cellphones

A New York man had allegedly stole more than 100 cellphones at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival over the weekend. Tech-savvy concert-goers helped police locate the man, said the authorities

The Indio Police Department in California said that it arrested the New York man, named Reinaldo De Jesus Henao on Friday after several attendees activated their "Find my iPhone" app and followed the suspect around the festival venue until the authorities were able to detain him.

Henao, aged 36, was arrested by the officials with a backpack containing more than 100 cellphones, that were believed to have been stolen from the sit of concert, located in the east of Los Angeles near Palm Springs, said the police.

Number of the mobiles were returned to the victims and the rest of mobiles were reported to the venue’s lost and found site, according to the police.

Henao was arrested on the charges of grand theft and also possession of stolen property, said the police.

He was charged at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Center in Banning, California, and released on a bail of $10,000, as per the inmate records.

Henao is scheduled to appear in the court on 26th May, according to the inmate records.

Many celebrities attended the event, including Katy Perry, Halsey, A$AP Ferg, Kylie Jenner, Amber Rose, Paris Hilton and Odell Beckham Jr.

The three-day event which was held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, attracted nearly 125,000 attendees per a day, according to the ABC’s Southern California affiliate KABC.
