Four Indian-Americans will be honored with this year's prestigious "Great Immigrants: The Pride of America" award. They are among among 42 US nationals selected for the award for their inspiring professional accomplishments.
The four Indian-Americans are Google CEO Sunder Pichai, Hari Sreenivasan, anchor and senior correspondent, PBS NewsHour, Bharati Mukherjee National, Book Critics Circle Award-winning author and Vikram Malhotra Chairman of the Americas, McKinsey & Company.
They will receive the annual award of the Carnegie Corporation during an event in New York, scheduled to be held on June 30.
Vartan Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corporation of New York, said that, "These accomplished Americans are immigrants like our forefathers, who founded this nation of nations."
"They are representative of the millions of immigrants who have come to the United States for economic opportunity, education, political or religious asylum, security, or reunification with families and relatives. They, like all Americans, share a common faith in this country," he said.
