Japan's Shinzo Abe heads for New York for first talks with Trump

Japan’s premier Shinzo Abe all set to visit New York for talks with President-elect Donald Trump. He will be the first leader to meet with the Republican Donald Trump after his surprise victory in US elections.
Dozens of leaders including China’s Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin have spoken with Trump by phone since his victory in November 8 election.
The New York billionaire will be receiving Abe at his Trump Tower headquarters. Abe said that, “I’m honored to meet with President-elect Trump ahead of other world leaders.” “I’d like to discuss with President Trump our dreams for the future.”
Abe said before departing, that, “The Japan-US alliance is the cornerstone of Japan’s diplomacy and security. The alliance works only when there is trust.”
“I’d like to build trust with Mr Trump and work together hand in hand for the peace and prosperity of the world.”
