Obesity is always health hazard to anyone, but the impact will be high on women. According to new statistics, obesity is causing at least seven types of cancer– including bowel, post-menopausal breast, gallbladder, womb, kidney, pancreatic and oesophageal cancer.

Cancer Research UK has released some statistics, which is highlighting the risks of getting cancer in women with heavy weight or higher BMI. One in four obese women will have the chance of developing a cancer linked to weight in their lifetime.

In their study on 1000 obese women and 1000 healthy women, 274 obese diagnosed with a bodyweight-linked cancer in their lifetime, compared to 194 healthy women.

“Losing weight isn’t easy, but you don’t have to join a gym and run miles every day or give up your favourite food forever. Just making small changes that you can maintain in the long term can have a real impact,” said Dr Julie Sharp, head of health information at Cancer Research UK.

Cancer risk is highly dependent on our genes, our environment and other aspects of our lives such as life style. Consuming alcohol, smoking habits, eating junk food, unhealthy sex, improper periods, and irregular activities can lead to cancer.

Obesity comes from hereditary factors, eating habits, activeness, sleeping timings, and irregular food intake, wrong time eating. The obesity will then turn to burden on human beings especially on women. So try to maintain appropriate BMI as per your age, and height to avoid health related problems.
