Television actress Prachee Shah Paandya has been invited to be the Grand Marshal for a prestigious Indian Independence Day event in New York and she was elated with the kind of response the event received from Indians abroad.
“This is an India Independence Day Parade held in New York every year. It is called Queens India Day Parade. It is amazing to see so many Indians who are far away from their motherland celebrate their love and patriotism for their country. I was overwhelmed to be invited as the Grand Marshall and see our Tricolour being hoisted with such fervor. Even the American media gave me so much respect and coverage that I felt more than proud to be an Indian,” Prachee was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Three years ago, Prachee had been to the IBA India Day Parade in New Jersey.
On the work front, Prachee regarding her latest film, said: “I am a part of Laxmi Bomb, a remake of a Tamil hit, that stars Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and is directed by Raghava Lawrence.I was drawn towards it because it is an interesting role. I am looking forward to sharing screen-space with the extremely talented Akshay Kumar.”
