Terrorist like threat forced evacuation in NJ transit train

According to a spokeswoman for the agency, a passenger aboard a Bay Head-bound NJ Transit train was arrested on Monday after making a threat.

The train, No. 3363 travelled on the North Coast line, had stopped at the Newark Airport stop before 6 PM after one passenger made the threat. The spokeswoman said that both NJ Transit and Port Authority police responded sharply after they were informed.

Joseph Pentangelo, a Port Authority spokesman, informed that an argument broke out between an older and a younger man, possibly father and son. During the despute the young man made "terroristic-type verbal threats" and mentioned of a bomb.

The train was evacuated as a Port Authority K-9 unit investigated for explosive devices and other weapons.  Pentangelo informed that nothing threatening was found.

The younger man was taken to a hospital for testing, Pentangelo have also informed that, adding to this he was taken in the custody of NJ Transit police.

There was no information whether the man would face charges or not, was not available that time.
