Story
Guru (Sidharth) works as a gangster under mafia man Caesar (Remo Fernandez). He is a man with a dark past that haunts him continuously. Guru, an intense man, meets the bubbly and cheerful Aisha (Shraddha). She comes into his life and changes his dark existence.
Love transforms him completely and the cold blooded murderer almost settles down into normal life with his lady love, when Aisha falls prey to a serial killer Rakesh (Riteish Deshmukh).
Guru, who had found a new meaning to life with his lady love, is determined to catch the culprit. And he even finds him, but cannot understand his motive.
Analysis :
Mohit Suri has delivered the most stirring thriller in recent times. While Riteish and Sidharth are the visible heroes with their brilliant performance, the director Mohit Suri has to be lauded for steering the film smoothly.
Riteish’s love for his wife and his motive behind the cold blooded murders have been brilliantly etched on celluloid. The scene is beautifully conceptualized clearly explaining the psyche of the serial killer Rakesh. The audience can even empathize with him as all of us have similar traits buried deep within us. Only difference between him and us is that we know how to tackle it.
The scene where Riteish and Sidharth meet for the first time is memorable. All the songs are brilliant and the chemistry between Sidharth and Shraddha is great to watch.
Performance :
Sidharth Malhotra did a brilliant job as an actor in this film. He has pulled himself above all the other young actors. His expressions are superb. In one of the romantic songs that shows him falling in love, his expressions are just right. He brings the right element of confusion, puzzlement and stupefication in his expression. Sidharth has perfected each emotion – love, pain, heartbreak and anger - with accuracy.
Riteish Deshmukh has matched up his acting skill to perfection. He plays a wicked character well. He brings plainness in his eyes that haunts you. After each murder, he talks to his victims about his nagging wife and how much he loves her. Riteish brings peace on his face after each murder. He is the perfect actor to play the role. No one else could have done the same justice to the role of Rakesh.
Shraddha Kapoor fits into her role with ease. The pretty actress is much better than she was in Aashiqui 2. Her chemistry with Sidharth is sizzling and memorable. Shraddha stole the scene with her near death throes. The impact was heightened.
Final Word:
Go for it. You will definitely miss something if you fail to watch it.
