United States reported the highest incidence of cases on March 27, 2020 taking the toll of confirmed cases of Coronavirus to 83,000 surpassing that in China. Well, just within a day, the country has reported thousands of new cases, surpassing the 100,000 mark for the total number of confirmed cases.

The same was shown in one of the trackers developed by the John Hopkins University. As per the latest reports, the country has a total of 100,717 cases with 1,544 reported deaths.

The biggest hit of the cases has been in New York where half of the confirmed cases are. The overwhelming increase in the number of confirmed cases have already become a lot overwhelming for the hospital because of the limited resources.

The death rate in the United States is confirmed to be at 1.5% with respect to the confirmed cases which is 10.5% in Italy.

The death rate could drastically fall as more testings are done and confirmed cases surface, even with the person being asymptomatic.

The officials also believe that the same might happen if the other states and cities find themselves in a position similar to what Italy is experiencing at the moment. New York has been witnessing shortage in the available hospital bed, ventilators and even the personal protective equipment for the frontline healthworkers who are putting their lives at risk.

A professor of health policy at Harvard, Thomas Tsai stated saying, “We're still seeing a rising number of cases, a rising number of hospitalizations, rising number of intensive care unit admission, a rising number of patients with the mechanical ventilators.”

Tsai also believes that it is not just true for the number of confirmed cases but that the same will also reflect on the number of deaths happening around.
