The impacts of Covid-19 has grappled the entire world and brought it down on its knees. With the uncertainty and the highly infectious properties of this virus, it is extremely important that the world has access to a vaccine as soon as possible.

While a typical process of vaccine development takes somewhere between 5-7 years, the covid-19 vaccine is being developed within months because of the rising crisis.

Commenting on the subject, President Donald Trump said that it is likely that they will have a vaccine by the end of this year.

Trump for emphasised his outlook on the reopening of schools and universities in September saying “I want them to go back.”

The vaccine prediction timeline has already been moved up by a notch with multiple countries working consistently to be the first one to bring out the vaccine for defeating the novel coronavirus.

Trump further insisted saying that he would be happy if another country beats US to the development of the Covid-19 vaccine. He said that he would “take his hat off” in case that happens.

He emphasised that it is not about who develops the vaccine, it is important that the vaccine is developed and accessible to the countries.

When the journalists enquired about the risks that the human trials bring on the subjects, Trump exclaimed saying, “they’re volunteers. They know what they’re getting into.”

Trump also clarified that he is going ahead of his advisor’s predictions about the development of the vaccine and that it is not certain at this point.

“The doctors would say ‘well, you shouldn’t say that.’ I’ll say what I think,” Trump said.

US currently has over 1.1 million confirmed cases and over 68,000 reported deaths. With the situations getting a little better, few states have also started easing the restrictions imposed.
