Man Involved In Pennsylvania Shooting Arrested In New Jersey

The Newark police arrested a New Jersey man on Thursday after he was allegedly injured during the police-involved shooting in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, then falsely reported that he was shot in the Newark, said the authorities.

As per the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to the University Hospital on a report of a shooting injury at around 1:30 a.m. The injured man in the shooting, Brian Evans, aged 30, of the Newark, told to officers that he was shot near the South 20th Street and Springfield Avenue following the quarrel.

However, the detectives investigating the case of shooting later developed evidence that Evans was actually injured in the Wilkes-Barre during a police-involved shooting, stated the authorities.

The Newark police authorities charged Evans with the false reporting to police and held him until the Pennsylvania authorities could take custody.
