One died, Another Injured In Crash Involving Police Vehicle

One person dead and another was seriously injured after their SUV collided on Sunday morning with a New Jersey State Police vehicle on the Route 22.

The trooper sustained with minor injuries and was taken to the Hunterdon Medical Center, where the trooper was treated and released, said the State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

Flynn, who earlier said that the two occupants of GMC Envoy had been hurt, confirmed just after 2 p.m. that one of the occupants died.

The crash occurred around at 7:57 a.m. by the Cokesbury Road, on the westbound side of the Route 22, said Flynn.

The trooper was on duty at that time, said Flynn.

Names of those involved in the crash were not immediately available.
