Japan ready to avert N Korean missiles

Japan has been taking security seriously after the threats from North Korea targeting US and the announcement of the war-status between its southern counterpart. The Japanese army has already been ordered to shoot down any North Korean Missile that was directed towards their nation or territories.

It has been guessed that the North Koreans might fire one of the missles that have already been mounted on the mobile launchers on their east coast.

Japan's defenses were tightened after Itsunori Onodera, the Defence Minister for Japan, gave the command to Aegis destroyers to intercept any of the missiles headed its way. These destroyers have sea-based interceptor missiles.

The issue was being kept at a low-profile since Sunday, the day when the orders were issued. The Japs also mentioned that they had no intentions of holding press conferences to stick to Japan's policies of not being influenced by North Korea's provocations.

They said that their idea was to keep North Korea in the dark when it came to details of its strategy. Though Japan is not a likely target of North Korea, Japan feels it should be ready before any contingency rather than feel sorry at the aftermath.
