USA ready to fend off N Korean attacks

Tensions between North Korea and USA are still escalating after the Oriental nation has moved the missile with the nuclear warhead containing plutonium to the eastern coasts. The missile is reportedly mid-range and USA was making sure that the missiles are intercepted before they cause any damage.

Kim Kwan Jin, the defence minister of Seoul said that the missile could reach considerable distance but there is no threat to US mainland. This missile hence could be a decoy or a test-firing for military drills.

The attitude of North Korea has incensed hostile responses from the USA and the UN. South Korea and US have been conducting military drills since the threats of  an apocalypse with the nuclear strike were given out by N Korea.

White House too responded in a way hinting that the North Korean threats were regrettable and not unheard of from the leaders of North Korea.

US however is taking prudent measures while dealing with the threats. Pentagon is readying missile-interceptors to protect its base near North Korea where 6000 US personnel have been deployed.

South Korean intelligence has reported that the missile readied on the east coast was an intermediate-range missile Musudan which could do 3000 km on average and if it is fitted with a light warhead, it could theoretically cross 4000 kms but not further.

However, chances are that the nation is using Musudan as a decoy while having a much more powerful missile up its sleeve.
