Seven Immigrant Children Reunited with their Mothers in New York

The separated seven immigrant children at United States-Mexico border left a New York City social services center on Friday accompanied by their mothers, carrying playthings and rucksacks.

A woman from Guatemala nearly after two months held her 5-year-old son in her arms. He and his 15-year-old male sibling have been staying with a New York foster family.

"I want to thank everyone who made this possible because for me it seemed impossible at one point," said Rosayra Pablo-Cruz, speaking in Spanish. "When it's in God's plans, everything is possible."

The family left to East Harlem Cayuga Centre, which has a federal contract to place unaccompanied immigrant children in short-term foster attention.

Another Guatemalan mother Yeni Gonzalez was given custody of her three sons, ages 6, 9 and 11. "I feel very happy," she said.

She conveyed thanks to her lawyer, elected officials, and volunteers who paid her bond through crowdfunding and drove her from Arizona's Eloy Detention Center in New York.

For mother who is still in detention near the Mexican border, she said: "Fight because with the help of all these people you will succeed, and the help of God."

One of the people was Julie Schwietert Collazo who arranged a caravan that brought Gonzalez to New York after paying $7,500 bond in order to freed from detainment. In whole, The group had raised about $200,000 and up to now have bonded six women out of the Arizona facility, whereas three more awaited to be freed.

On Friday, a Honduran mother also left Cayuga quietly with her two children - one carrying a big stuffed bear and smiling.
