Indian American Teen Killed In A Road Rage Following An Accident In NYC Suburbs

NYC; Levittown:
An Indian American teen Tranjit Parmar, 18 was killed in a road rage in NYC. Her brand new jeep was hit by a pick up truck as stated by Police Officials. The driver of the pick up truck ran his vehicle on Taranjit after a minor collision in the middle of a busy suburb of NYC.

Police report stated that the driver was so agitated post the minor collision that he ran his pick up truck over Taranjit. Indian American teen was traveling back to her home when this incident happened. She had this minor accident right at the Hempstead Turnpike on Thursday.

Both Taranjit and the pick up truck driver parked their vehicles at a gas station nearby post collision. But just when the young teen got off her jeep, to check the impact of collision she was run over immediately by the pick up truck. She was on phone speaking with her mother when the pick up truck ran over incident happened.

“She had called my wife and said, ‘Hi, Mom,’” Parmar’s father, Ranjit Parmar said. “Then she said ‘Oh, no, Stop!’ and the call got disconnected. There was no answer after that,” he added.  “She bore all the responsibility to carry the family, carry her education. I always told everybody who would listen to me, if you’re going to have a daughter, this is the one.”

She was rushed to the Nassau University Medical Center, but she could not be saved. She had chest and head injuries.

Taranjit was studying at Adelphi University and was doing her dentistry course. And she was just 10 minutes away from her home when the tragedy happened.

The pick up truck and driver have been at large and since have not been tracked down. The surveillance video just showed a red pick up truck and nothing beyond. The pick up truck’s license plate could not be seen, as stated by Nassau Police Officers.

The investigation is underway and more to come in further.
