Arizona Residents get cash for buying milk

People in Arizona who have bought milk or any other dairy products anytime since 2003, are all eligible for a price settlement, according to a California based class action lawsuit against the dairy industry.

According to a residents of Arizona can claim up to $40 to $70 from the settlement. But the exact settlement cash will depend on how many residents will apply.

According to the court documents, the lawsuit was filed in 2011 against the National Milk Producers Federation, in the lawsuit attorney’s alleged that the owners of the dairy farms conspired in a price fixing scheme to increase the price of dairy products by killing more than 5000,000 cows, which reduced the milk supply. The dairy farms had agreed to a settlement and pay $52 million and in the month of September in 2016 the court, signed off on it.

Including Arizona there are 15 more states in the part of the lawsuit. United Dairymen of Arizona is a cooperative of nearly 90 Arizona dairy farms and is a part of the the National Milk Producers Federation.

Lead attorney Steve Berman said that the biggest dairy producers in the country who are responsible for the 70 % of the country’s milk production, together conspired in a price fixing scheme, which forced the increase of prices for a basic food item upon honest consumers and their families.

In September 2016 press release attorney Steve Berman announcing the settlement said ““We’re pleased that this settlement will return some of what consumers lost due to this massive fraud perpetrated for ill-gotten gains.”

From 2003 to present people of Arizona and the other 15 states who bought milk or any other fresh milk products like sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese or yogurt can visit www.boughtmilk.com and fill out a brief settlement claim form. No receipts are required. Claims must be filed by January 31st.
